Cantonese is one of the most well-known cuisines of China. In the West, when we refer to “Chinese food” we're usually talking about Cantonese recipes like barbecued spare ribs, steamed fish with ginger and garlic, or stir-fried beef with oyster sauce. This style of cooking originated in the province of Guangdong, and chefs there have literally spent thousands of years experimenting with flavours and perfecting their culinary tradition.
At its best, Cantonese cooking is a subtle cuisine that relies on the freshest and best-quality ingredients, and usually avoids masking their flavour with heavy sauces and strong spices – all of which makes it an ideal match with our own cooking style here at ilumi!
We've gone to great lengths to make sure our newest Chinese dish, [Cantonese Style Chicken], lives up to this long and illustrious culinary tradition. Tender pieces of our British free-range chicken, slow-cooked in a nicely-balanced soy and ginger sauce with peppers and onions, combine to create a moreish blend of hot, sweet, sour and salty that's classically Asian. And, like all our ilumi dishes, it's [guaranteed free of gluten, milk and nuts] – making it a takeaway you can trust, even if you have allergies.
